Day 22. Shenandoah Crossing

Yep. Still here.  We got all set to go this morning, literally in the driver seat, and another problem cropped up. There is an interlock somewhere that is designed to make sure you don't drive off with the lift out or door open.  Well actually, 2. The one on the door just turns off the lift so you can't try to unfold it when the door is closed. (Ok. Good idea)
But there is another one that sends off alarms and red flashing lights (not kidding) if you start the engine and the switch isn't happy.

This morning a couple nice men from Virginia and North Carolina helped me install the new power opener on the door. (Details of that debacle will be saved for later) so all was happy happy until I got into the driver seat and hit the ignition and it was like when you break the beams at fort knox! I mean what I imagine it would be like.

Bottom line, we got to spend another night in this luxury campground,  which is not a bad thing.

So at about 5:30 this evening I was going in to make a drink when I spied a little micro switch with a bent tab. Voila. The culprit. This after spending the whole day back and forth with a repair man in Richmond, and he on the phone with Newmar. He was about to dispatch a truck when I got it figured out. Bent the tab good and we are back in the saddle!

 Meanwhile, a gorgeous evening here!

P.s. 4 sites down there is literally a campsite with a hot tub in a gazebo!
