Day 26. Hot Springs, AR.

Aaannnnnd, we're on the road again. Today we left out of E.Z. Daze campground, headed back toward Memphis and then west.
We crossed the Big  Muddy just west of Memphis. (Geography buffs might know that the "original" big muddy was actually the Missouri river as named by Indians long time ago. But it flows into the Mississippi and the nickname carried with it)

It's kind of a symbolic thing...crossing the Mississippi...like you're in the "west" now!
Which reminds me. I'm reading a book right now about the Pony Express. The "pony" route left from the banks of the Mississippi and made California in 10 days!  Amazing, because it will take us the same amount of time at our pace!

So, we rambled across a big chunk of Arkansas, and drove through a pretty good rain storm, and finally dropped anchor at an awesome little park in Hot Springs, AR!

We're at Catherine's Landing, and it would be awesome to spend a couple days here. But we are heading out tomorrow for Seminole, OK. We're right on the river. Well like 100 feet away. Joni went to one of the sites right on the river and said it was scary close to the water!

  2. YURTS! I see yurts. Just looking at Catherine's Landing. Looks like fun for the whole family. I guess with those big feet it's not so far from the Pacific Northwest?
