Yes. That Bristol. Home of the amazing Bristol Nascar race and the NHRA Thunder Mountain drag strip! We drove past Bristol Motor Speedway...I'd love to see a race there. It's a short track in a massive stadium. Gotta be so cool to see a race there.
The scenery was so beautiful that we forgot to take pictures. Ooops.
We stopped at a walmart and re-stocked the fridge. About an hour out of Bristol we stopped for some of that good ol' $2.29 gas. We're paying darn near double that in California. For what?
We are camped about 2 miles from the race track at a place called Shadrack Campground. The camp host is a crazy (nice) guy originally from Red Bank, NJ. He and his wife living the dream...camp host in summer which includes parking their rv here free. And winter they go to Florida! Of course. I can only imagine what a zoo this place is on race weekend!
